What is it about the faculty of some universities that they enjoy infantalizing you even when saying your work is acceptable? My theory is that most people who make it to graduate school are driven by a fear of disappointing people in charge and thus, faculty play on this deep-seated drive at the center of the poor graduate student’s soul. “Oh, we are sooooo disappointed in you.” Grad student scurries away to her carol in the library and cries. Reads 450 more pages. Realizes grad school is better than being jobless. Gets over it until the next encounter with DeathEaters, er, I mean faculty members.

The Cherokee language has a musical quality because of its phonetic sounds. Early contacts and various sources mention this in reference to their language. Because of this it works well in musical sounds.

Monsoon Grocery Shopping

S and K decided to go grocery shopping to pick up a few important items (such as beer and icecream). They took their umbrellas to fend off a small portion of the Norester drenching the city; however, on their way home from the grocery store, S found her two six-packs of beer, jug of milk, pint of icecream, and select other items too heavy to carry in one hand while the other supported her umbrella, only one side of which still had an infrastructure. Realizing her bodega umbrella was worthless against the wind and rain (and her bicep was tired less than 50 feet from the grocery store), S exclaimed to K, “You know what my opinion of this is?” and summarily chunked her umbrella into a trash bin.
